Job Title: Supply Chain Manager - 2 Positions Available
Location: Kanata, Ontario
Status: Full-time
The successful candidates will be senior level professionals who are responsible for the strategic management of the client’s supply chain. Areas of focus include the procurement and management of commodities of a particularly complex, customized, and high value nature, and to ensure the optimal flow of defect free materials at the lowest total acquisition cost. The Supply Chain Manager will also ensure proper action is taken to achieve the most cost effective and business effective solution.
Responsibilities generally include:
- Providing supply chain management expertise relating to assigned customers: commodities; supply chain processes; industry trends; and conditions within relevant markets
- Develop supply chain strategy to support Customer and BreconRidge requirements, from Proto thru EOL cycle
- Market Awareness, EBN, Gartner Group etc, to anticipate and proactively respond to industry situations with strategic solutions to mitigate loss of revenue for Customer and BreconRidge
- Contributing information for Customer bids and proposals with a short turnaround
- Focus on Supply Chain Processes that will optimize ROA
- Define and assess risk of supply, to customer, and provide strategic plan for risk parts
- Monitoring of Supply Chain Execution
- Analyze and approve Customer engineering change notice
- Communicate to Purchasing the Customer strategy
- Escalation resource to Purchasing for supply issues, ensure all technical and commercial solutions are explored
- Prepare and present supply chain performance metrics at Customer Quarterly Business Reviews
- Build and maintain Supplier Relations to ensure support for BreconRidge and end Customer
- Prepare accurate analyses to determine total cost of acquisition
- Manage the supply chain to meet customized needs based on a close, direct relationship with the customer
- Plan and project manage the integration of activities which contribute to the customer’s supply chain, such as procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality control of production materials
- Work with Finance to manage inventory carrying costs
- Develop and implement cross-functional processes and systems to ensure materials are available as required in the supply chain, and that inventory is maintained at minimum acceptable levels
- Source, negotiate and manage supply contracts for raw materials, and coordinate global procurement efforts
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced members of the team
- Decisions are based on mature knowledge of materials management principles and operational goals. Therefore, detailed investigation and analysis is frequently required and will include nebulous or intangible factors
Skills/Qualifications/Education
- Generally requires a Business Degree in Operations and at least 8-10 years progressive and diversified procurement or supply chain management experience in a Design & Manufacturing environment,
- Certification from Procurement/Materials Management related Professional Programs, or equivalent.
- Involvement with Professional Associations is generally expected.
- SAP and advanced Excel skills required
