Job Title:        Vice President, Finance 

Location:        Kanata, Ontario

Status:             Full-time

           
Purpose:

Reporting to the CFO the VP, Finance is responsible for overseeing the finance operations on a global scale and will provide leadership to a team of senior finance professionals.   

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee all financial reporting/analysis, costing, budgeting, forecasting and taxation responsibilities
  • Take the leadership role in the finance department and manage the introduction of projects to improve efficiency, customer service and reporting
  • Direct the annual external audit process
  • Interact with business leaders and provide timely financial and business metrics information
  • Set financial policies and procedures for the business and monitor/implement systems in anticipation of continued growth
  • Participates with the senior leadership team to establish strategic plans and objectives
  • Interacts internally and externally with senior management requiring negotiation of critical matters
  • Identify emerging accounting issues and the impact on the company
  • Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures

 Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • Professional accounting program designation (CA/CPA/CGA/CMA)
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive and diversified experience in a senior financial leadership role
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes–Oxley reporting requirements
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Exposure to a computerized manufacturing environment is an asset
